For my 20-time i plan on throwing on the potters wheel. In the past I have made pottery but never on the wheel which is unlike any other method. I have thrown but only once and that didn't yield a functional piece. Using my time I hope to improve my artistic abilities and learn how to do something properly that I have not had the time to do. This is the final push leading me to do something that I could possibly use for the rest of my life.
Beautiful blog background! Love your honest voice. I look forward to seeing pictures of your work. I'd love to know more about what it takes to "throw" pottery and what types of things you want to make. What is your life goal with this since you say it will effect you for the rest of your life?
ReplyDeletePottery can be used to make many things ranging in size and shape. In the future if I stuck with it I could make yarn bowls, mugs, bottles, or plates instead of having to buy them saving me money and giving me a sense of accomplishment. So this is a life long skill that I could keep as a hobby even when I'm as old as Betty White.
DeleteI think you're gonna have a lot of fun doing this- I remember taking a pottery class and absolutely loooving it! And it's cool that you could use this later in your life!
